The Welcome Friend Foundation (WFF) and Welcome Friend Association (WFA) work side by side to create safer, healthier, and more affirming spaces for 2SLGBTQI+ youth and communities across Canada.
While WFA designs and delivers programs like Rainbow Camp®, Rainbow Online Connection, and community training, WFF strengthens and sustains this work by securing charitable funding, supporting long-term growth, and investing in the health and well-being of 2SLGBTQI+ people—especially in rural and Northern communities. Together, we are expanding impact, increasing access, and building the foundation for a more inclusive tomorrow.
WFF exists to make sure life-changing programs like Rainbow Camp® and other WFA initiatives have the resources they need—today and in the future. We do this by funding partner charities, promoting health and well-being, and investing in long-term, sustainable growth.
We receive and maintain funds, and direct those resources to qualified donees that are also registered charities under the Income Tax Act (Canada). By supporting organizations aligned with our values, we amplify the reach and impact of 2SLGBTQI+ focused programs across the country.
We provide youth in the 2SLGBTQI+ community with access to information, resources, and group support that foster connection, resilience, and empowerment. Our funding helps create spaces where queer and trans youth can safely be themselves, build community, and thrive.
We engage in activities that help achieve and expand our charitable purposes, ensuring our work continues to meet the evolving needs of the communities we serve. From program growth to capital projects, WFF is focused on long-term, sustainable impact.
